Her awareness of client needs and level of knowledge have resulted in several national and local awards during her tenure in sales and marketing. Her practice encompasses corporate, senior living and healthcare design genres. However, the healthcare market has increasingly piqued her interest. Iconic Design Studio was named Subcontractor of the Year at the 10th annual RED Awards for 2014.
Kelli’s senior living and healthcare clients include Barrow Neurological Institute, Honor Health, Solterra Senior Living, Brookdale Senior Living, Banner, Chandler Regional Hospital, Mercy Gilbert, Paradise Valley Hospital, DMMG Dental Group (20 locations around the U.S.), NextCare Urgent Care, Brown Hand Center, and St. Michael Center for Special Surgery to name a few.
“Our experience as designer and subcontractor enables IDS to approach our projects with the technical knowledge of products regarding cost, realistic maintenance requirements, performance, appearance retention, and the practical application of specifications. We merge capital and operating budget requirements to provide a financially sustainable design, to offer a reasonable return on investment. We strive for beautiful, functional design,” Kelli says.
Born and raised in Jackson, Miss., Kelli holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in interior design from Mississippi University for Women and a minor in art history. Off the clock, Kelli enjoys entertaining, singing, engaging in conversation, and discussing politics.
An artist, Kelli sold a painting last year for $11,000. Her work has hung in galleries in Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Scottsdale, and Phoenix. Always one to display an artistic side, Kelli took classical ballet for 13 years and began singing and dancing when she was 5. She also used to ride in rodeos in the South.
The personal accomplishment of which she is proud is raising a son who is serving as an Chief Warrant Officer/Apache helicopter pilot in the United States Army.
The best business advice she’s been given comes from herself: “I pretend I work for someone else. And it works for me because I would never want to let another person down or disappoint them. It was the way I was raised. You are your word.”
